In Berlin, Copernicus Berlin e.V. led the main activity of “Constructing the Present from Moments in the Past.” Youth workers from across Europe gathered in the capital to reflect on the effects of dictatorship in post-war Europe and how these stories are still important today.
Participants learned how to use history as a tool in youth work, helping young people stay informed and involved in democratic life. They explored the connections between past and present, shared experiences, and created group projects to teach values like respect, tolerance, and civic responsibility.
This event inspired all participants to bring history to life for young people—and to build a future where freedom, peace, and equality stay strong in Europe.
