Returning from the “Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Development: A Global Perspective” training course held in Prague (30/04/2024 – 07/05/2024), a representative of the Romanian national team felt strongly inspired to share her experience with the local community. She organized an engaging follow-up workshop at a co-working space in Bucharest, welcoming friends and colleagues eager to learn more.

During the event, she introduced participants to Copernicus Berlin, the Erasmus+ programme, and its many opportunities—such as Youth Exchanges, Training Courses, and European Solidarity Corps volunteering. The session included an interactive presentation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the globe and a demonstration on how to explore intangible cultural heritage online.

The workshop was also a space for creative thinking and collaboration. Participants brainstormed ideas for community events that celebrate and protect cultural traditions, discussed threats to Romanian heritage, and emphasized the role of youth in preserving local identity.

Key Activities:

  • Erasmus+ & Heritage Introduction: tools, access, and opportunities

  • Story & Culture Roundtable: discussions on family traditions and shared values

  • Event Lab: group brainstorming for youth-led cultural events and preservation campaigns

Reflection:

“Our heritage is not only monuments, it’s also the way we live today—and how we shape tomorrow.”
