Blockchain & Web3 Literacy: From Hype to Responsible Use

Erasmus+ Training Course in Berlin, Germany

April 6-13, 2026

Project organized by Copernicus Berlin e.V.

Copernicus Berlin e.V. is hosting this event

A critical and practical course for youth workers to understand blockchain, Web3 and digital assets (including NFTs) without hype. Participants explore what these technologies can and cannot do, ethical concerns (scams, speculation, environmental footprint), and realistic youth-sector use cases: digital identity concepts, transparency, community tokens for engagement, and education on online risk. The focus is financial and digital literacy, protecting young people from fraud, and building informed citizenship.

Objectives
  • Develop foundational knowledge of blockchain/Web3 concepts and terminology.
  • Build capacity to educate youth on risks: scams, fraud, misinformation, privacy.
  • Explore responsible and socially useful Web3 scenarios (non-speculative).
  • Produce a youth-friendly workshop plan on Web3 literacy.

Key learning outcomes
Participants can explain blockchain simply, identify common scams, and run a safe educational session.

Methods
Interactive demos (testnets/simulations), case studies, myth-busting exercises, workshop design labs, reflection.

Outputs
Web3 literacy workshop pack + risk checklist + glossary for youth workers.
