CROSS-BORDER BOOTCAMP

This bootcamp brings together young people from Armenia and Georgia to develop cross-border digital peacebuilding solutions through a hands-on innovation process. Rather than traditional lectures, participants work in mixed international teams to identify community challenges, design and test digital-peace prototypes, receive mentorship, and present their solutions at the end of the programme. The activity builds on previous national innovation labs and Training of Trainers cycles, transforming local ideas into practical projects with social impact.

Objectives

• Strengthen digital collaboration and prototype-development skills in mixed Armenian-Georgian teams

• Apply peacebuilding and conflict-sensitive approaches to real community challenges.

• Develop and refine digital-peace prototypes suitable for further mentoring and policy dialogue.

• Promote intercultural teamwork, peer learning, and cross-border cooperation.

• Support reflection on learning outcomes through the Youthpass framework.

Key learning outcomes

Participants gain practical experience in digital collaboration, prototype design, peace-sensitive communication, intercultural teamwork, pitching ideas, and project development. They learn to work in diverse teams, test and improve solutions through feedback, and document their learning through reflection and Youthpass competence assessment.

Travel costs

Travel arrangements and reimbursement are managed by the sending organisations. Participants should keep all tickets, boarding passes, invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations. The recommended arrival airport is Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP). Extra days before 8 October or after 15 October are at the participant's own expense.

Accommodation

Accommodation is fully covered during the activity. Participants will stay in large shared apartment-style accommodation at First Flatotel International in Benalmádena-Costa, Spain. Apartments are shared with participants from different countries to encourage intercultural exchange. Rooms are allocated based on availability, gender balance, accessibility needs, and logistical considerations.

Meals

All-inclusive catering is provided throughout the project period, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee breaks. Dinner is available on the arrival day, and breakfast is included on the departure day. Dietary requirements can be accommodated if communicated in advance.

Travel flexibility

Participants should arrive on 8 October 2026 and depart on 15 October 2026. Additional days before or after the official activity are permitted but must be arranged and financed by participants themselves, including accommodation, meals, and local expenses.

Mandatory preparatory Innovation Labs

• Tbilisi, Georgia: 5–9 August 2026

• Yerevan, Armenia: 9–13 August 2026

Transport for Armenian participants from Yerevan to Tbilisi and back to Yerevan will be organised by car. Accommodation and meals in Tbilisi will be fully provided for Armenian participants. During the Innovation Lab in Yerevan, meals will be provided, while participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation if needed. The Innovation Labs will allow participants to develop initial ideas, form mixed Armenian-Georgian teams, and begin working on the challenges and prototypes that will be further developed during the bootcamp in Spain.
