On 28 November 2025, a local dissemination workshop was held at Pangaea Youth Network Youth Space in Horsens to share the outcomes of the Erasmus+ training course “Blue & Green Futures: Biodiversity, Digital Storytelling & Inclusion,” conducted on Réunion Island in collaboration with Copernicus Berlin. The event welcomed 10 guests from the local international community in an intimate basement setting.
Participants were introduced to Réunion Island as a biodiversity hotspot with unique volcanic landscapes, coral reefs, tropical forests, endemic species, and UNESCO-protected areas, alongside current environmental challenges such as invasive species, coastal erosion, and coral bleaching. Key learning outcomes presented included biodiversity awareness, citizen science skills for data collection and observation, use of mobile apps for species recording and waste mapping, and inclusive facilitation methods to engage youth in environmental activities.
The workshop featured an introduction to the Copernicus Moodle platform and a biodiversity quiz accessed via QR codes, with all participants registering to continue their learning online. Information on current and upcoming Erasmus+ opportunities was shared to encourage youth participation in future training and exchanges with Copernicus Berlin and Pangaea Youth Network.
To connect theory with experience, tamarind fruit from Réunion Island was shared as a conversation starter about local species and food culture. The session concluded with an open discussion on biodiversity and citizen science over a communal meal, fostering a relaxed atmosphere for reflection and questions. All attendees actively participated and expressed interest in future Erasmus+ initiatives related to climate and biodiversity.
