The workshop was held in Horsens, Denmark, as part of the Digital Storytelling & Media Literacy for Youth Engagement training. It targeted young participants and youth workers interested in creative digital media use.

Participants were introduced to fundamental photography theory and visual composition techniques, including the rule of thirds, grid balance, and leading lines. These concepts enhanced their understanding of how composition influences the strength and interest of an image.

Following the theoretical session, participants engaged in a hands-on creative activity. Each selected an emotion to express through two paintings: one created with a grey pencil and the other using two chosen colors.

The workshop then connected painting with photography by having participants photograph a LEGO brick to represent their chosen emotion, applying the previously learned photography techniques.

The session concluded with participants sharing their photographs and explaining their concepts. The group discussion highlighted how creative practices like photography and painting foster emotional expression and storytelling skills in youth through digital media.
