The workshop "Bridging Voices: Media Literacy, Community Dialogue & Youth Participation" was held at the University of Naples Federico II, gathering students interested in media literacy, intercultural dialogue, and youth participation. The session was facilitated by Laura Liccardi, who guided discussions and encouraged active exchange among participants.
In the first part, students received a comprehensive technical and theoretical introduction to media literacy. They explored key concepts such as critical thinking, information credibility, media bias, fake news detection, and the influence of algorithms on public perception. The discussion emphasized the importance of media literacy for responsible communication and democratic engagement.
The second part focused on the international project "Bridging Voices," promoted by Copernicus Berlin. Participants learned about the project's objectives to foster dialogue, intercultural understanding, and youth empowerment through non-formal education and cross-cultural collaboration. The structure, learning outcomes, and activities of the international mobility phase were presented in detail.
Copernicus Berlin's mission to promote youth mobility, intercultural learning, and cooperation among young Europeans was highlighted. The workshop was interactive and participatory, encouraging students to engage with the content, ask questions, and share reflections. This approach helped connect theoretical media literacy concepts to real-world applications and the project's outcomes.
By the end of the session, students had developed a clearer understanding of how media literacy and dialogue can build empathy, strengthen civic responsibility, and promote cross-cultural cooperation.
