Youth for Change: Social Enterprise Bootcamp at Gori State University

Content

Following the Erasmus+ training in Yerevan, Millennium Georgia organized a local follow-up workshop at State University. The session brought together youth workers, peer educators, and university students to explore how social entrepreneurship can support community wellbeing, especially among marginalized youth.

Workshop Goals

  • Train youth leaders in sustainable community innovation.

  • Equip students with tools for financial resilience and inclusive project development.

  • Encourage university-based initiatives linked to social impact.

Key Activities
Participants discussed what social entrepreneurship means and how young people can address local challenges with innovative ideas. Topics included sustainable business models, digital hate, and the first steps of launching a social venture. Students worked on ideas for peer-led youth clubs focused on job skills, mental health, and creative services. They also learned how to apply for micro-funding and pitch socially driven initiatives.

Participant Reflections

“Now I believe youth work can also be a business—with meaning.”
“This helped me see how we, as students, can be part of the solution in our own cities.”

Outputs and Legacy
Several student-led initiatives were proposed for the university, focusing on social inclusion and community engagement. A shared youth network was formed to develop and test business models through summer youth centers and campus clubs. The event also sparked new interest in Erasmus+ opportunities across the region.
