Digital Literacy for Youth Impact in Budapest

Content

As part of their Erasmus+ dissemination activities, participants from Kreatív Ifjúsági Akadémia Magyarország held a public workshop at the

Ervin Szabó Library in Budapest. The event, held after their return from the “Code for Change” training in Benalmádena, Spain, brought together 12 engaged attendees—primarily MA and PhD students, along with adult learners curious about digital innovation, programming, and EU-funded opportunities.

Workshop Goals

  • Highlight programming and AI literacy as essential tools for modern youth workers.

  • Inspire interest in Erasmus+ and EU mobility programs among academic and civil society communities.

  • Promote digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainability through practical coding awareness.

Key Activities

The team presented insights from the training, sharing how youth can use digital skills to address social and environmental issues. Participants explored useful online platforms and Erasmus+ tools, and brainstormed how coding can support youth-led green entrepreneurship in Hungary. Mock-ups of apps for farmers markets, bike rentals, and local youth campaigns were shown as examples.

Participant Reflections

“This session showed us how coding is not just a tech skill—it’s a mindset for building better futures.”

Outputs and Legacy

The session ended with an open Q&A where attendees asked about Erasmus+ pathways and coding for non-tech learners. The most promising app ideas from this session are now being prepared for a regional innovation showcase.
