Programming Potential: Real-World Coding for Impact in Varna

Content
After completing the training course “Code for Change: Empowering Young Changemakers through Programming” in Benalmádena, Spain, representatives of the Bulgarian national team organized a follow-up workshop in Varna. The event took place at the meeting room of KBC Global Services, where participants—many of whom work in tech or have young adult children—gathered to learn about the Erasmus+ program and its real-world impact.

Workshop Goals

  • Spread awareness about Erasmus+ and how it supports practical skill-building.

  • Show how programming can be a force for social good—not just for building apps.

Key Activities

International Connection led discussions about digital tools, ethical tech use, and accessibility. Participants explored how coding can support community change, especially for youth. Many were excited by how inclusive programming education can be, even for those new to the field.

Participant Reflections

“The programming part really caught our attention. We saw how coding can be more than just tech—it’s a tool for making real change.”

Outputs and Legacy

Several colleagues said they planned to share Erasmus+ opportunities with their children and community networks. The team also plans to continue offering digital literacy and coding sessions in rural areas near Dobrich and Veliko Tarnovo in summer 2025.
