On December 10, 2024, the Change Makers Association organized a follow-up workshop in Budapest, Hungary, inspired by the Erasmus+ training course Empowering Youth Workers for Gender Equality and Mental Health Awareness, which took place in November in Benalmádena, Spain. The event aimed to engage local youth in conversations about emotional well-being, equality, and the importance of empathy in daily life. The workshop gathered 12 participants — university students, young professionals, and volunteers — who were not part of the original Erasmus+ training but were eager to learn from its key outcomes. Facilitators from Change Makers shared the main insights from the international course, explaining how youth workers can promote gender balance, mental health awareness, and inclusive dialogue within their communities. Participants explored topics such as breaking gender stereotypes, building emotional resilience, and developing active listening and advocacy skills. The interactive format encouraged everyone to share personal experiences, brainstorm ideas for social change, and reflect on the link between equality and mental well-being. The session concluded with an open discussion about future opportunities within Erasmus+ programmes and how youth-led initiatives can contribute to healthier, more equitable societies. Participants expressed enthusiasm for continuing their involvement in non-formal education activities focused on personal growth and social awareness. The Budapest workshop successfully reflected the vision of the Erasmus+ Empowering Youth Workers for Gender Equality and Mental Health Awareness project — showing that when young people come together to share, learn, and support one another, they become true catalysts for positive change.
