On December 12, 2024, the Pangaea Youth Network organized a follow-up workshop in Herning, Denmark, inspired by the Erasmus+ training course Empowering Youth Workers for Gender Equality and Mental Health Awareness, held in November in Benalmádena, Spain. The event aimed to raise awareness about gender equality and mental health challenges among young people while promoting empathy, communication, and social inclusion. The workshop took place at VIA University College, gathering 10 students and young professionals from social work and education fields. Facilitators began by sharing key insights gained during the Erasmus+ training, emphasizing the connection between emotional well-being, equality, and active citizenship. Participants engaged in group discussions and interactive exercises on gender inequality, healthy coping mechanisms, and community support systems. The session also included activities designed to build listening and advocacy skills, encouraging participants to reflect on how they can contribute to safer and more inclusive environments within their schools and communities. Special attention was given to the importance of creating supportive networks and recognizing the role of youth workers in addressing loneliness, anxiety, and gender-based discrimination. The Erasmus+ programme was also presented as an example of how democratic participation and intercultural exchange can empower young people to lead positive social change. By the end of the session, participants expressed a renewed commitment to promoting mental health awareness and gender equality in their daily lives and professional paths. The Herning workshop successfully reflected the spirit of the Erasmus+ Empowering  Youth Workers for Gender Equality and Mental Health Awareness project — proving that understanding, empathy, and dialogue are essential tools for building resilient and inclusive communities.
