On December 3, 2024, the Terra Dulcis Association organized a follow-up workshop in Siena, Italy, inspired by the Erasmus+ training course Empowering Youth Workers for LGBT Rights and Inclusion, held in November in Benalmádena, Spain. The session aimed to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights and encourage young people to foster inclusion and equality in their communities. The workshop took place at the headquarters of the LinkSiena Association, gathering 11 university students interested in Erasmus+ opportunities and human rights advocacy. Facilitators introduced participants to the goals of the training course, emphasizing the importance of creating safe spaces, understanding gender and sexual diversity, and promoting dialogue and empathy within educational and social settings. Participants engaged in interactive discussions on how to improve inclusivity within universities and local organizations. They explored ways to combat prejudice, challenge stereotypes, and ensure that LGBTQ+ youth feel supported and represented. The session also highlighted the importance of youth-led initiatives and the role of non-formal education in promoting equality. By the end of the event, attendees expressed enthusiasm to participate in future Erasmus+ projects and to collaborate on community-based initiatives advocating for diversity and human rights. The Siena workshop effectively continued the mission of the Erasmus+ Empowering Youth Workers for LGBT Rights and Inclusion project — proving that open dialogue, education, and empathy are key to building more inclusive and respectful communities.
