On December 3, 2024, Youth Prague organized a follow-up workshop in  inspired by the Erasmus+ training course Empowering Youth Workers for LGBT Rights and Inclusion, held in November in Benalmádena, Spain. The workshop gathered university student volunteers from the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) who actively support incoming international students, focusing on building inclusive and welcoming environments for all. Led by youth facilitator Valérie Machová, the session opened with discussions on LGBTQ+ history and rights, including key figures such as Marsha P. Johnson and landmark moments like the Stonewall Riots and the global response to the AIDS pandemic. Participants explored how historical events have shaped the present-day movement for equality and why it remains vital to continue advocating for acceptance and diversity. Interactive activities encouraged participants to reflect on their own communities and volunteer experiences. Together, they brainstormed ways to create and maintain safe spaces within university and youth programs, emphasizing empathy, inclusive language, and active allyship. The group also shared creative ideas for awareness campaigns to promote equality among students and local youth. By the end of the session, participants expressed a renewed commitment to integrating inclusive practices into their volunteer work and everyday interactions. The Brno workshop successfully extended the mission of the Erasmus+ Empowering Youth Workers for LGBT Rights and Inclusion project — demonstrating that dialogue, education, and understanding are essential steps toward fostering truly inclusive communities.
