On November 21, 2024, Copernicus Berlin e.V. hosted a follow-up workshop in Berlin, Germany, inspired by the Erasmus+ training course Empowering Youth Work in Entrepreneurship and Environmental Sustainability, held in October in Hurghada, Egypt. The event brought together local youth workers, educators, and young entrepreneurs to explore how sustainability and entrepreneurship can work hand in hand to create meaningful community impact.
The workshop began with an introduction to the Erasmus+ programme and its opportunities for professional growth in sustainable youth work. Facilitators shared key insights from the training in Egypt, highlighting the importance of eco-conscious entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and ethical leadership. Participants discussed how youth can become agents of change by developing innovative projects that address both environmental and social challenges.
Interactive sessions guided participants through the basics of design thinking, project management, and green business planning, encouraging them to turn their ideas into actionable projects. They also learned to integrate sustainability into each stage of project development — from resource management to community engagement — ensuring that every initiative contributes to long-term positive change.
The event concluded with a networking session, where participants presented their project concepts and discussed possible collaborations with local organizations and small businesses. The dynamic exchange of ideas reinforced a shared vision: that youth empowerment and environmental responsibility can coexist as core pillars of future entrepreneurship.
The Berlin workshop successfully continued the mission of the Erasmus+ Empowering Youth Work in Entrepreneurship and Environmental Sustainability project — demonstrating that when young people unite creativity with sustainability, they can transform business into a force for good and build more resilient communities across Europe.
