21.04.2025 – 28.04.2025

Place: Budapest, Hungary

Description: Today’s youth live in a digital-first world where they connect, learn, and express themselves online. While the internet offers unparalleled opportunities for creativity and collaboration, it also exposes young people to various risks—including cyberbullying, misinformation, and privacy breaches. For youth workers, the challenge is twofold: maintaining their own digital safety and equipping young people with the skills to navigate the internet confidently and responsibly.
“CyberSafe Youth” is motivated by the urgent need to address these issues at both the technical and social levels. By fostering greater awareness of cyber threats, data protection laws (like GDPR), and ethical considerations, participants will be better prepared to support and guide young people in creating positive digital footprints and safe online communities.

Target Group

  • Youth Workers: Individuals who support young people in formal or non-formal education settings, NGOs, community centers, and youth clubs.
  • Educators and Mentors: Professionals seeking to develop best practices in online safety, digital well-being, and cyberethics.
  • Community Leaders & NGO Staff: Those looking to champion secure and inclusive digital environments, particularly for vulnerable youth populations.

Main Goal

The main goal of “CyberSafe Youth” is to empower youth workers with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to protect themselves and young people from cyber threats, promote responsible online conduct, and advocate for digital rights and well-being within their communities.

Objectives

  1. Strengthen Cybersecurity Awareness. Provide in-depth understanding of common cyber threats—phishing, malware, identity theft, cyberbullying—and share practical methods for prevention and response.
  2. Foster a Culture of Digital Responsibility. Encourage participants to cultivate positive online behaviors and digital ethics among young people, addressing issues like privacy, misinformation, and respectful online interaction.
  3. Understand Legal & Policy Frameworks. Offer insights into relevant regulations such as GDPR and national laws, emphasizing how these frameworks protect users’ data and digital rights, and how youth workers can become effective advocates.
  4. Develop Community-Based Outreach. Train participants in designing and running youth-led workshops, peer-to-peer support groups, and public awareness campaigns that emphasize cybersecurity and safe online conduct in local communities.
  5. Promote Lifelong Cyber Resilience. Equip participants with ongoing strategies to stay updated on emerging digital trends and threats, ensuring that the knowledge they share with young people remains current, adaptable, and impactful.

Youthpass

All participants who successfully complete the “CyberSafe Youth” training course will receive a Youthpass certificate. This official recognition tool—an integral part of the Erasmus+ program—validates the learning process and newly acquired competencies. It underscores participants’ ability to champion cybersecurity and foster digital well-being among young people, while enhancing their professional and personal development for future endeavors in youth work.
