Code for Change: Empowering Young Changemakers through Programming
Erasmus+ Training Course in Benalmádena, Spain
May 11-19, 2025
The program focused on empowering youth workers to use coding as a tool for social change and community innovation. It encouraged participants to view technology not only as a technical skill but also as a means to tackle real-world issues such as inequality, education, and environmental sustainability. By combining creativity with digital literacy, participants discovered how programming can drive inclusive and meaningful progress.
Through practical sessions and collaborative projects, they gained hands-on experience with programming languages like Python and JavaScript, learning how to apply them in youth-centered initiatives. The training also emphasized the ethical dimensions of technology, guiding participants to design digital solutions that promote fairness, accessibility, and respect for human rights.
By the end of the program, participants had developed concrete plans to integrate coding and social innovation into their daily work with young people. Equipped with both technical and civic skills, they left ready to inspire youth to become active digital creators and problem-solvers in their own communities.
