Code for Inclusion: Youth-Worker Bootcamp on Digital Creation
Erasmus+ Training Course in Yerevan, Armenia
September 10-17, 2025
Digital literacy, particularly in coding and computational thinking, proved essential for employability and civic participation. In Yerevan, a vibrant tech scene provided an ideal backdrop for youth workers to enhance their skills and empower young people to become creators of technology. Over the week, participants engaged in hands-on experiences with front-end web development, basic Python, and no-code/low-code tools, enabling them to facilitate beginner workshops. The training featured interactive sessions, including ice-breakers and a “Code Myth-Busting” activity. Participants built simple webpages using HTML/CSS and JavaScript, explored Python fundamentals through data visualization tasks, and learned inclusive pedagogies to create supportive coding spaces. A social-impact hack day allowed teams to prototype tech solutions for local NGOs. By the end of the program, participants had developed action plans for launching coding clubs or hackathons in their communities and presented their prototypes during a Demo-Day Pitch, receiving valuable feedback from mentors.
