Description: “Equipping Youth Workers for Conflict Resolution, Mediation, and Peacebuilding” was an Erasmus+ training course dedicated to strengthening youth workers’ capacities to address conflicts constructively and foster peace within their communities. Recognizing that conflicts are natural but can lead to either division or growth, this program focused on practical skills in conflict resolution, mediation, non-violent communication, and peace education. Participants explored socio-cultural dynamics behind conflicts, learned to facilitate dialogue, and developed peacebuilding strategies tailored for youth work, contributing to more cohesive, inclusive, and resilient communities.

Main Objective:
The main objective of the program was to empower youth workers with advanced conflict resolution, mediation, and peacebuilding competences, enabling them to support young people in managing conflicts peacefully and fostering community harmony.

Objectives:

  • Enhance conflict resolution skills: Train participants to identify, analyze, and manage conflicts using effective resolution and mediation techniques in youth work settings.
  • Promote non-violent communication: Equip youth workers with tools to foster empathy, active listening, and respectful dialogue among youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Encourage peacebuilding practices: Develop participants’ capacities to implement peace education, restorative justice, and community-building initiatives within their local contexts.
  • Develop peace education materials: Support youth workers in creating educational programs that empower young people with conflict resolution and peacebuilding skills.
  • Foster cross-cultural understanding: Strengthen intercultural dialogue and cooperation through peer learning and shared best practices.
