Youth Work Approaches to Preventing Radicalization and Extremism
Erasmus+ Training Course in Tbilisi, Georgia
March 30 - April 5, 2025
The program was designed to strengthen youth workers’ ability to prevent radicalization and promote inclusion through education, awareness, and community engagement. It encouraged participants to take an active role in fostering resilience among young people by creating environments that value dialogue, diversity, and critical thinking.
Through workshops and collaborative learning activities, participants explored the underlying social and psychological factors that contribute to radicalization. They practiced strategies to counter extremist narratives, promote media literacy, and encourage young people to engage positively within their communities.
By connecting prevention with empowerment, the training helped participants develop sustainable approaches to youth work that build trust, belonging, and civic responsibility. Equipped with these tools, they are now better prepared to support young people in resisting harmful ideologies and contributing to peaceful, inclusive societies.
