Digital Inclusivity Drive: Bridging the Gap for Youth Workers
Erasmus+ Training Course in Benalmádena, Spain
November 9-16, 2023
From November 10 to November 17, 2023, Benalmádena, Spain, hosted the Erasmus+ training course “Digital Inclusivity Drive: Bridging the Gap for Youth Workers.” This initiative aimed to empower youth workers with essential knowledge, skills, and tools to promote digital inclusion and equity. In a rapidly digitalizing world, the course addressed both access to technology and the ability to utilize digital tools in ways that honor diversity and cater to the unique needs of marginalized communities. Participants engaged in interactive training sessions, examined real-life case studies, developed resources, and networked with peers, all while exploring how digital platforms can advocate for underserved populations and foster more inclusive digital environments.
The program successfully equipped youth workers with inclusive digital competencies, enabling them to confront the digital divide and actively promote digital equity. Through workshops and discussions, they raised awareness of disparities in digital access and literacy among marginalized groups while co-creating tailored digital resources. The initiative also fostered a network of digital inclusion champions, establishing an online community for knowledge-sharing and collaboration in the field of digital inclusion.
