In an era where disinformation threatens democratic discourse and social cohesion, young people from marginalized communities need powerful tools to navigate, analyze, and respond to the digital information landscape. This intensive 17-day training course brings together girls, women and other marginalized groups for a transformative experience that combines cutting-edge media literacy education with meaningful cultural exchange.Taking place in Berlin and Paris, participants will develop both the technical skills and cross-cultural understanding needed to become effective champions against disinformation in their home communities.
Training Objectives
Master Advanced Media Analysis Develop sophisticated skills in source verification, bias detection, narrative analysis, and fact-checking using professional journalist tools and techniques.Create Compelling Counter-Narratives Learn digital storytelling, video production, podcast creation, and social media strategy to craft authentic content that challenges false narratives.Build Inclusive Engagement Strategies Gain expertise in reaching marginalized communities, facilitating difficult conversations, and creating safe spaces for democratic dialogue.Foster Cross-Cultural Resilience Develop deep intercultural competencies and lasting international partnerships that strengthen democratic movements across borders.Design Community Impact Projects Create concrete action plans for implementing media literacy initiatives and anti-disinformation campaigns in home communities.
Core Training Programme
Media Literacy Masterclasses – Interactive workshops with investigative journalists, fact-checkers, and digital rights experts covering advanced verification techniques, understanding algorithmic bias, and recognizing sophisticated propaganda methods.Digital Production Labs – Hands-on creation of multimedia content including video documentaries, podcast episodes, infographics, and social media campaigns, with professional equipment and expert mentorship.Democracy & Disinformation Seminars – Deep-dive sessions exploring how false narratives undermine democratic processes, with case studies from recent elections and social movements across Europe and beyond.Cross-Cultural Dialogue Circles – Structured exchanges where participants share experiences of disinformation in their countries, explore common challenges, and co-create solutions.Community Organizing Workshops – Practical training in grassroots mobilization, coalition building, and using media literacy as a tool for social change advocacy.Collaborative Project Development – Team-based design of concrete initiatives participants will implement upon return, with ongoing mentorship and support structures

Participation: The international exchange covers accommodation, meals, local transportation, and cultural activities. Travel costs to Berlin/Paris are reimbursed based on distance calculations, with green travel options (train, bus) preferred and encouraged.
Accommodation: Exchange participants stay in shared apartments (4-5 people per apartment) equipped with kitchens and bathrooms, fostering intercultural bonding through shared living experiences.
Meal: Every participant will receive a 140 EUR allowance to cook together in apartments, fostering intercultural exchange through the joy of food and shared culinary adventures.
