From June 10 to June 17, 2024, Paola, Italy, hosted the Erasmus+ training course “Green Playgrounds: Promoting Inclusion and Environmental Awareness through Sports.” This initiative engaged youth workers in creating and implementing sports-based activities that successfully integrated environmental education while fostering inclusive participation. By leveraging the universal language of sports, participants connected physical activity with environmental consciousness and European values such as respect, diversity, and community responsibility.
The training empowered youth workers to develop inclusive sports programs that heightened environmental awareness and strengthened European identity. Through this experience, they promoted mutual respect and teamwork among young people from diverse backgrounds, encouraged discussions on environmental challenges, and inspired local sports initiatives aimed at enhancing community engagement and active citizenship.
