Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development in Island Communities

Erasmus+ Training Course in Guadeloupe Island, France

May 2-9, 2023

From May 3 to May 10, 2023, participants gathered in Guadeloupe Island, France, for the program “Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development in Island Communities.” This initiative aimed to equip youth workers with essential knowledge, skills, and practical tools to tackle the unique environmental challenges faced by island communities. Participants engaged with critical issues such as climate change, natural disasters, and resource limitations, while developing strategies to promote sustainable development and environmental protection in these vulnerable areas.

The course emphasized community engagement, cross-sector collaboration, and hands-on experience through field visits and real-world project work. Participants witnessed successful examples of sustainability in action, enhancing their competencies in project management, stakeholder engagement, and youth education for sustainability. By the end of the program, they were better prepared to implement effective conservation efforts and foster environmental responsibility within their communities.
