Climate and Displacement: Building Euro-Arab Bridges

Erasmus+ Training Course in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt

October 18-27, 2023

From October 19 to October 28, 2023, the Erasmus+ training course “Climate and Displacement: Building Euro-Arab Bridges” took place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. This initiative brought together youth workers and socially active individuals from Europe and Arab regions to delve into the critical intersection of climate change and population displacement. Participants explored the root causes of climate-induced migration, such as sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and environmental degradation. Through storytelling, policy analysis, and solution-oriented workshops, they gained insights into these complex challenges while enhancing their skills to foster resilience and promote intercultural dialogue.

The program aimed to empower youth workers by deepening their understanding of climate-induced displacement and fostering Euro-Arab dialogue. It created a dynamic space for cultural exchange and cooperation, equipping participants with tools to build resilience in affected communities. Through advocacy and storytelling, they shared experiences to raise awareness about the human impact of climate-induced displacement, ultimately working towards sustainable and inclusive solutions.
